Micah McKee
Micah McKee (she/her) is a New York-based dancer, performer, and educator. Originally from Knoxville, Tennessee, Mckee earned her B.F.A. from George Mason University School of Dance, where she trained under esteemed faculty such as Susan Shields, Roger Jeffrey, and Christopher D’Amboise. While at Mason, she was selected to perform Robert Battle’s Awakening under the direction of Elisa Clark and received the Kevin Campbell Scholarship in recognition of her dedication and artistry. She further enriched her training at institutions such as Orsolina28, Hubbard Street, Doug Varone & Dancers, Bates Dance Festival, the San Francisco Conservatory of Dance, and Rubberband Dance Group.
Following graduation, McKee joined Gin Dance Company in Washington, D.C., under the artistic direction of Shu-Chen Cuff. Now based in New York City, she is entering her second season as a company member with Caterina Rago Dance Company, performing Graham-influenced contemporary work choreographed by Caterina Rago at the Martha Graham Studios and across various venues in Italy, featuring her solo performance, "Falling into Autumn." McKee is also in her second season with Forza Dance Company, where she performs dynamic contemporary works at events including Brooklyn Art Haus, the New York Dance Parade, and Luminaria Contemporary Arts Festival in San Antonio, Texas. In addition to her stage work, she continues to collaborate on film-based projects with distinguished multimedia artist Reza Farcahonb.
